At least 15 were killed and 15 wounded in Jalalabad on Tuesday, after two men stormed a government compound following a suicide bombing at the entrance of the building. According to the spokesperson for the provincial governor, a suicide bomber detonated at the entrance of the building allowing his accomplices to enter the building and take hostage dozens of people.
A six-hour-long exchange of fire followed between the attackers and the security forces. The injured were taken to Nangarhar regional hospital. This is the latest in a string of deadly attacks to have targeted Jalalabad in the past weeks.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
