Territories under the control of the Syrian democratic forces in two stages will go under the control of official Damascus. Such an agreement was reached by the parties in the course of negotiations between the delegations of the Syrian government and the SDF.
According to local media, referring to the source in the Syrian Democratic Council, the first stage, which is called “confidential”, implies the transfer to Damascus and the further restoration of the Taba hydroelectric power station. In addition, the Syrian government undertakes to restore uninterrupted power supply, repair and launch educational institutions and hospitals, as well as to establish the functioning of other socio-economic institutions in the north-eastern part of the republic.
As part of the implementation of the second phase, the Syrian democratic forces will hand over their government arms to the government troops, as well as pass control points on the border with Iraq and Turkey under the control of the SAA.
