The terrorist organization “Islamic State” has lost more than half of the occupied territories in the south-west of Syria after a large-scale military operation of government troops.
The offensive by the Syrian Arab Army with the use of artillery and aviation was able to break the enemy’s defenses. As a result, government forces succeeded in freeing a number of settlements in the Tell al-Juma area in Daraa province, and later the SAA succeeded in driving out militants from Tasil, the largest settlement in the enclave of militants in the province.
In addition, in the southeast of the enclave, with the support of the so-called fighters of the Free Syrian Army, who crossed over to Damascus, the government army managed to free the settlements of Hayit and Jallin. The civilians are now actively returning to the latter.
As a result of the military operation of the Syrian Arab Army, Islamic state militants now control only a few small settlements in the province of Daraa and in the de-escalation zone near the Golan Heights.
