USA: Trump taunts EU before Juncker meeting

Donald Trump had a few choice words for the European Union ahead of his meeting with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, in a speech to the Veterans of Foreign Wars convention in Kansas City on Tuesday.

“They are all coming to see me tomorrow,” Trump said to a laughing audience, as he boasted that his threats to impose new tariff policies had brought the EU to the negotiating table.

Trump also reeled off a list of his presidential accomplishments including the supposed denuclearisation of North Korea, pulling out of Iran nuclear deal and so-say eradicating Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL).

Juncker and Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom are set to visit Washington tomorrow in order to discuss trade ties with Trump.
