London protests Trump’s visit to UK

London’s Trafalgar Square was filled with people protesting against the visit of US President Donald Trump on Friday. ‘Trump, go home’, ‘Donald Trump not welcome’ and ‘Not today, Satan’ were some of the many banners on show. People also brought mocking cut outs of the US president, with some taking swipe at a Trump punch bag. Prominent British journalist Owen Jones spoke at the event. “This is a historic protest and I have to say I will probably die laughing that we managed to organise a protest bigger than the inauguration of Donald Trump himself,” he told attendees. After his stayover in London, Trump landed in Glasgow, also hit by protests, where he is expected to spend the weekend at his Turnberry golf course in Ayrshire. Trump will then meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki on July 16.
