France: Nantes in flames after police shooting angers locals

Fires continued to burn in Nantes on Wednesday night, after clashes erupted over a man who was shot dead by police during a traffic check. The Nantes districts of Breil, Dervallieres and Malakoff were all effected by the violence. According to local police, French police reportedly opened fire on the driver after he lightly struck a police officer. A bullet hit the driver in his carotid artery and subsequently led to his death. Nantes Mayor Johanna Rolland has reportedly asked for a transparent investigation into the case while the identity of the victim is yet to be announced.
