German officials meet to discuss migrant crisis

Top politicians from the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), Christian Social Union (CSU) and the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) met again at the German Chancellery in Berlin on Tuesday, to discuss open questions of the migration crisis in Europe.

SPD party head Andrea Nahles and German Vice Chancellor Olaf Scholz gave a brief statement to the media outside the Chancellery, stating that important progress has been made but a common solution is not achieved yet. Scholz added that they are strongly convinced of a solution, but that the SPD will seek a reasonable, pragmatic and legally sound resolution.

Talks will be continued on Thursday evening.
