Anti-refugee protesters call for Merkel’s resignation in Cottbus

Around 2,000 demonstrators rallied in Cottbus on Sunday to protest against the government’s migration policy.

Organised by the right-wing association ‘Zukunft Heimat’ (Future Home), the demonstrators gathered at the city hall where they chanted and sang, calling on Chancellor Angela Merkel to resign.

The city has seen an increase in far-right movement protests, after a German teenage boy was reportedly injured in a knife attack by Syrian teenagers in January.
