PM Pashinyan to attend NATO summit: Could Armenia be eyeing NATO membership?

The revolutionary Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan decided to play a double game, on the one hand declaring “friendship with Russia”, and on the other, deciding to check what the “Western partners” can offer.

This was reported by Armenian newspaper Zhamanak, writing that the head of government decided to attend the NATO summit in Brussels.

“On the one hand, meetings are planned at the highest level with the EU leadership, and on the other – Pashinyan will participate in the NATO summit. Information on these two most important visits added to the favorable situation for Armenia in the west, “the newspaper writes.

The first meeting of the Armenia-EU Partnership Council was held on June 21. After that, the European Union “through the official communication and at the level of the High Representative of Federico Mogherini expressed unconditional support for Armenia”
