Fighting escalates in Syria as army pushes deeper in Daraa

Fighting escalated between government forces and militants as the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) made advances in the southern province of Daraa on Tuesday, a strategic area that borders Jordan and the Golan Heights.

According to the Syrian news agency SANA, the SAA reportedly gained control over the towns of Busr al-Harir and Malihat al-Atash, the militants’ strongholds in the area.
