US diplomats in Serbia gather leaders of public opinion for propaganda of the country’s accession to NATO, the sources from Vecherni Novosti newspaper say.
In the middle of September a group of professors will gather at the resort of Fruska Gora to prepare activities to popularize NATO under the name of “Club 100”, the sources say. It is alleged that John Raderford intends to continue the mission of the American diplomat.
The plan is a global strategy for Western countries to “eliminate the malign influence of Russia in the Balkans,” the newspaper writes.
NATO intends to work seriously to change the negative image of the Alliance in Serbia. A month ago, Belgrade was visited by Chinchilla Molis, head of the NATO Propaganda Department in Europe. She talked with representatives of a number of non-governmental organizations and clarified the peculiarities of the attitude of Serbian society toward the US and NATO.
Theoutlet notes that NATO has begun to recognize the committing of mistakes in relation to Serbia, and also to emphasize that cooperation with the Alliance is “a reality that can not be avoided anywhere.”
