Anti-discrimination protesters gathered outside Slovenian parliament

 

Activists from a loose coalition of NGOs gathered outside the parliament building in Ljubljana to express anger over anti-immigration rhetoric in a recent election campaign, as well as voice their support for the LGBT community and pro-choice policies, on Thursday.

Various speakers addressed the crowd, condemning nationalism and racism, while others displayed banners carrying slogans critical of deportations and LGBT discrimination.

The rally was organised two days before the parliamentary election on June 3, which was prompted by the resignation of Prime Minister Miro Cesar
