Germany: Police shoot man dead after stabbing on Flensburg-bound train

 

German police shot dead a man who attacked another man with a knife at Flensburg’s main train station, Wednesday.

According to local media, the assailant got into an argument with a male passenger and injured him with a knife. A policewoman at the scene confronted the man and shot him dead after suffering from an injury herself.

The attack took place on an intercity train travelling to Flensburg via Cologne and Hamburg. The train was still 20 km (12.5 miles) away from Flensburg at the time of the incident.

Police have said the incident has no connection to terrorism. The train station has been evacuated and closed off.
