Iraq: Islamic State raids village, burns people’s properties

The Islamic State (IS) insurgents raided on Wednesday morning a village between Nineveh and Salahaddin provinces, said a security source.

The militants have burned two houses of civilians in the village of Slebi, just before they were repelled by the Iraqi forces, according to the source.

No further details are currently available on casualty figures.

The extremist group took over a vast area in Iraq in mid-2014. It was announced defeated in December, last year, but the militants have lately reorganized themselves, continuing to carry out crimes against the security forces and civilians.
