A violent protest in Iran’s southwestern city of Kazerron has left at least one person dead and six others injured.
Reports said protesters set fire to a police station in the city that lies some 900 kilometers south of Tehran.
Kazerron has been the scene of protests against a local government decision to divide some districts of the city and merge them into a new town.
Authorities had promised the separation would not take place following previous protests.
Dozes of Iranian cities had witnessed violent and deadly protests between December 28 and January 1 over the rise of living costs.
