International Federation of Journalists demands immediate release of RIA News Journalist arrested In Ukraine

The International Federation of Journalists joined the appeals of the Union of Journalists of Russia to release the head of RIA Novosti Ukraina Kirill Vyshinsky, detained in Kiev.

“The International Federation of Journalists and its Russian affiliated union demand the immediate release of Kirill Vyshinsky, a journalist for RIA Novosti Ukraine,” the organization said on Facebook.

The head of the agency RIA Novosti-Ukraine Kirill Vyshinsky was arrested yesterday in Kiev. The office of the news agency was also searched.

The OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Arlem Desire, called on the Ukrainian authorities to abandon restrictions on the work of foreign media.
