Mexican activists boycotting border wall with the US

Activists from migrant civil rights groups staged a boycott of the border between the United States and Mexico, near Tijuana on Thursday.

Protesters from Angeles de la Frontera and Alianza Migrante Tijuana hung banners from the wall criticising US President Donald Trump’s anti-migrant rhetoric, before burning an effigy of the billionaire mogul-cum-populist politician.

US Border patrol were alerted to the protest, but chose not to intervene.

On April 4, US Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen announced that the Trump administration would send the National Guard to the border with Mexico.
