Bulgarian party “Volya” wants to hold a referendum on Bulgaria’s withdrawal from NATO

In the near future, we will begin to lend the idea of holding a referendum on Bulgaria’s withdrawal from NATO, the leader of the “Volya” party, Veselin Mareshki said.

“This will be one of our major initiative campaigns for the European choice. We believe that in practice NATO does not give us anything, but only plunder. At the moment it is about several billions, which the Bulgarian people should give for a meaningless heap of iron, from which the Bulgarian people will see nothing. We are absolutely against this. If NATO wants to be our partner, it can quietly give some airplanes, rather than pull out the last Bulgarian money from the poorest country in Europe and, in practice, plunging the people into even greater poverty,” Mareshki explained.

According to him, one real power is a united Europe, which can be equal with the US, and not remain its appendage.

Veselin Mareshki stressed that Europe also robbed the Bulgarian people.

“They forbade us to build a new nuclear power plant, forced to close our reactors, forbade the construction of the South Stream.” At the same time, the “Northern”, “Turkish” and any other streams are being built. German, French, American firms freely invest and cooperate with Russia, but forbid China. Bulgaria instead of making a bridge to Russia and the East, make an obstacle to them. In practice, almost by force increase the tension. I hope that it will not reach a military conflict. All these things can be changed if the real European patriotic formations are headed by the EU,” Mareshki said.
