Candlelit vigil honours Toronto van attack victims

A candlelit vigil was held near the intersection of Yonge St. and Finch Ave in Toronto on Tuesday, where a van had mowed down pedestrians the day before.

Mourners placed candles at the site and stuck up posters reading messages of condolence for the victims and their families.

On Monday, a white rental van mounted a pavement and mowed down pedestrians for reportedly three kilometres (two miles), killing ten and injuring 15. The attack took place near the intersection of Yonge Street and Finch Avenue in Toronto’s North York district.

Police have released the name of the suspect as Alek Minassian, 25.
