Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Yerevan again to denounce the election of former President Serzh Sargsyan as Armenia’s Prime Minister with 77 votes to 17 on Tuesday, amid several days of protests.
The mass demonstrations started in Yerevan last week following Sargsyan’s nomination for the Prime Minister’s post by the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).
The leader of the opposition movement Armenia’s Civil Contract Nikol Pashinyan reportedly declared a ‘non-violent Velvet revolution’.
