Photos recovered from liberated Douma show how militants filmed propaganda fakes

white helmets movie set

Syrian activist Penelope Stafyla has published photos recovered from liberated city of Douma, showing what seems to be a “movie set” belonging to the White Helmets group.

The photos show a variety of traditional movie FX props: Prosthetic limbs, makeup and application tools, fake blood.

The leaked photos show “actors” loitering around the production area with and without makeup.

Also depicted on the photos are a number of children, including toddlers also in scenic makeup accompanied by their mothers.

As the activist writes, the actors are likely genuine local civilians, who agreed to participate in exchange for food, water and other basic necessities that militants are withholding from them.

She alluded that the Douma chemical attack videos could have been filmed by a similar production job.
