Two US coalition servicemen killed in Syria

The US-led coalition on Friday confirmed that two Coalition personnel were killed and five were wounded by an improvised explosive device in Syria on Thursday.
 
“Wounded personnel received immediate care and are being evacuated for further medical treatment,” the coalition said.

“The names of the deceased will be released at the discretion of the pertinent national authorities,” the statement added.

The statement didn’t specify where the soldiers were killed.

“Details pertaining to the incident are being withheld pending further investigation,” the statement concluded.

The news comes amidst a statement by US President Donald Trump has said that the US will withdraw its troops from Syria “very soon” despite repeated declarations that he would not divulge military movements.
