Chief of the German Center for Eurasian Studies, who regularly visits Russia, shared his opinion on the expulsion of Russian diplomats from a number of the Western countries. According to Manuel Ochsenreiter, the incident with Skripal unexpectedly united all European governments.

“The political consequence can be seen right now: Russia’s great opposition, the unity of the European Union, a deeper alliance with the US against the Russian threat. In other words, if in the end the investigation shows that Russia is not involved in the Salisbury incident – all this will not change,” assured Manuel Ochsenreiter.
