Shoigu: Three attempts of using chemical weapons thwarted in Syria

Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu said that over the past week in Syria, three attempts of using chemical weapons by militants had been thwarted.

“The possibility of using the poisonous substances by militants in order to further blame the Syrian troops for the use of chemical weapons remains. Three such attempts were thwarted over the past week ,” he said.

Earlier, Colonel-General Sergei Rudskoy, chief of the operational department of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, said that American instructors in the area of Al Tanf had trained several groups of militants for provocations using chemical weapons, which should serve as an excuse for the US strikes against Syria.

Also, the Syrian Foreign Ministry reported on the plans of militants in Eastern Ghouta to stage a chemical attack, to blame the government of Syria then.
