EU, Britain agreed on the terms of the transition period after Brexit

The EU and the UK reached an agreement on the transition period after Brexit. This was said by the EU chief negotiator for Brexit Michel Barnier at a press conference with British Minister for Brexit David Davis in Brussels.

The transition period from March, 29, 2019 to December , 31, 2020 and is intended to mitigate the effects of Brexit for both the UK and the EU.

During this period, the UK will be able to enjoy all the rights of a EU member state, remaining in a single market, but will not be able to participate in the decision-making process in the European Union.

London will also be able to negotiate and sign trade agreements during the transition period.

British Prime Minister Theresa May and her colleagues from the EU countries can sign the terms of the agreement already at the EU summit this week.
