The new division of the armed forces will be established in eastern Poland.

According to him, within the framework of strengthening the eastern flank, Poland plans to make a partial “redeployment of troops from west to east.” “I plan to create a new division of a professional army in the east,” Błaszczak said. “Strengthening the defense potential was and is a priority,” the head of the department stressed, pointing out that Poland aspires to increase the number of NATO troops in the republic.
As Polish President Andrzej Duda added in his speech, the main challenge for Polish security is the “unpredictability of Russian policy.” “Russia shows that it is ready to resort to military force to achieve its goals, deliberately violates international law,” he says.
“This is dangerous for us, the neighbors of Russia, and the entire international community,” the Polish leader said, adding that this makes Poland to take actions.
The division is the largest military formation that exists in the Armed Forces of Poland in peacetime. At present, the structure of the Polish army includes one tank division and two mechanized divisions under the command of the ground forces. The rest of the armed forces do not have such an organizational level.
