EU allocated additional €50 million to help Libya to combat the migration crisis

The European Union has allocated an additional €50 million for Libya to combat the migration crisis. This was reported on Monday by the press service of the European Commission (EC).

“The EU is increasing its assistance to Libya to expand access to basic and social services for migrants and Libyans. The new €50 million program aimed at improving the living conditions of vulnerable residents in key districts was adopted within the European Emergency Fund for Africa,” said in a statement of the EC.

The money will be directed to help migrants, refugees and internally displaced persons. As noted in the EC document, the funds will help to gain access to health care, education, water and sanitation.
