The international meeting in Astana to resolve the situation in Syria will be held after the talks of the Russian, Iranian and Turkish Foreign Ministers scheduled for March in the Kazakh capital. This was announced on Tuesday by Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov.
“We have received information from our Russian colleagues that the countries that are the guarantors of the Astana process – Russia, Turkey, Iran are going to gather a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of these countries within the Astana process and the possible venue is our capital Astana. In this regard, the next round of the Astana process itself is scheduled to be held after the meeting of the foreign ministers of the countries – guarantors of the Astana process,” he said.
Abdrakhmanov specified that the talks between the Foreign Ministers of the three states could be held in March. “In order to convene a meeting of Foreign Ministers of three countries such as Russia, Iran and Turkey, it takes some effort, everyone has a busy schedule, especially in the light of the events that are unfolding in the Middle East as well, it’s about March,” he explained.
