On January 30, the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) and the Turksih-backed part of the Free Syrian Army (TFSA) captured the villages of Khalil and Sati Ushaghi in the western part of Syria’s Afrin area, according to Turkish media.
In total, the TFA and the TFSA have reportedly captured 23 settlements since the start on Ankara’s Operation Olive Brach in the area on January 20.
According to the Turkish General Staff, the TAF ‘neutralized’ 33 Kurdish fighters [often refered as ‘terrorists’ by Turksih media] overnight on January 30. The general staff added that in total 649 ‘terrorists’ have been ‘neutralized’ since the start of Operation Olive Branch.
According to pro-Kurdish sources, the Turkish military operation has already resulted in killing of 50 civilians and wounding 137 others.
