USA threatens Kosovo leaders with sanctions

The US can introduce measures against the leaders of the self-proclaimed “Kosovo Republic” in case they won’t listen to the US ambassador, consul of the embassy, Brian Kortvil, said in an interview with the Kosovo portal “Zeri”.

It’s about the Law on the Special Court for War Crimes committed in the nineties. The US insists on this law. Last week, US Ambassador Greg Delavi warned the three leaders of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, Ramush Haradinaj and Kadri Veselia, that if the campaign to sabotage the adoption of this law continues, sanctions can be imposed against them.

As the Consul specified, one of the possible measures is the abolition of American visas.

The media recalls that earlier the US Embassy in Pristina denied a visa to Ramush Haradinaj, who was planning a visit to Washington, and the reason for that is his position on the Special Court and the demarcation of the border with Montenegro.
