US Secretary of Defence Jim Mattis outlined a new set of national defence strategies, speaking in Washington DC on Friday, saying that the US “will continue to prosecute the campaign against terrorism that we are engaged in today but great power competition, not terrorism, is now the primary focus of US national security.”
