The ex-president of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Artur Mas, announced on Tuesday his resignation as president of the PDeCAT (Catalan European Democratic Party), leaving the first Catalan political line.
“The obtained result seems very good to me and goes beyond the expectations that our party had. I do not want my presence to be a brake,” he said, referring to the good results obtained in the elections December 21.
The second reason, as indicated, has to do with the preparation of the judicial calendar that must be addressed to promote the Catalan independence referendum on October 1.
