By March, the self-proclaimed “Republic of Kosovo” can create its own army. Prime Minister of Kosovo Ramush Haradinaj spoke about this on the air of Pristina TV. He said he will raise this issue, as well as the issue of visa liberalization with the European Union, during the negotiations in Brussels on December 18.
Earlier, KFOR commander (NATO forces in Kosovo) in Pristina, Salvatore Kuoci, in a statement to the local news agency Koch said that the issue of forming the Kosovo army is political and that it should be decided in accordance with the Constitution.
“The Kosovo Army” was one of the most high-profile questions of the pre-election campaign before the extraordinary parliamentary elections this year. These attempts by Pristina are opposed by Serbia, arguing that the presence of the “Kosovo Army” is contrary to the UN Resolution.
