Slovenia: We don’t need a ‘Cold War’ in sports

“I think it’s very bad if politics would be decisive in sports and I do not think that we need in sports or anywhere else the atmosphere of Cold War,” stated Janez Kocijancic, the President of European Olympic Committees, during an interview in the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana on Monday.

Kocijancic was commenting on the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board’s decision about Russia’s participation in the PyeongChang Winter Olympics 2018, which is expected to be made on Tuesday in Lausanne.
