US: Trump declares new sanctions on ‘terror sponsor’ North Korea

US President Donald Trump announced the US is “designating North Korea as a state sponsor of terrorism,” in a cabinet meeting held in Washington DC, Monday.

Trump stated, “In addition to threatening the world by nuclear devastation, North Korea has repeatedly supported acts of international terrorism, including assassinations on foreign soil.”

He added that the designation, which was removed nine years ago, “should have happened a long time ago.”
