The statements made by US State Department Special Representative Kurt Volker during his last visit to the Ukrainian capital suggest that Washington “seeks to bury the Minsk agreements that are unprofitable for the head of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, and provoke massacres in the Donbass.” This opinion was shared by the editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine Igor Korotchenko.
He is sure that the US is not beneficial to the implementation of the Minsk agreements, therefore, “Volker’s main goal is to bury them.”
Therefore, Washington’s task is to provide all the necessary support to the Kiev authorities, Korotchenko noted. He does not rule out that the American side will start deliveries of lethal weapons.
“The US wants to create conditions for a further Croatian scenario, so that the Armed Forces can already freely invade the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and carry out mass slaughter and cleansing there”, the expert said.
Earlier, the US State Department’s special envoy for Ukraine stated that the mandate of the UN mission in Donbass should not be coordinated with the DPR and the LPR, since Minsk agreements exist between the Russian Federation, Ukraine and the OSCE.
