On November 5, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) captured al-Khaji, al-Hajni, Tayib al-Fal and Sukar villages in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside, according to Kurdish sources. The sources added that the SDF killed 11 fighters of ISIS during its advance.
From its side, the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq announced that ISIS fighters targeted a convoy of the SDF on the al-Hasakah–Deir Ezzor highway (also known as al-Kharafi highway) on November 4. According to Amaq, 18 SDF fighters were killed and 4 vehicles of the SDF were damaged in the attack.
Meanwhile, in Raqqa governorate, the SDF announced that it allowed civilians to return to their houses in al-Mushalib district in the eastern part of Raqqa city after fully demining the district. According to the SDF, thousands of civilians returned to the district through Raqqa Samra village east of Raqqa city on November 5.
Back on October 26, the SDF banned the civilians from returning to their houses in al-Mushalib district. The SDF even opened fire on a group of civilians who tried to enter their houses in the district injuring at least 12 back then.
Syrian local sources previously reported that most of the houses in Raqqa city were looted by the SDF fighters.
