Kiev journalists boycotting Ukrainian language

The well-known Ukrainian journalist and TV presenter Vyacheslav Pihovshek said that he will broadcast in Russian because of the fact that Kiev led language quotas, and this is unacceptable in a democratic society. He informed about this on the live broadcast of the Ukrainian opposition TV channel NewsOne.

According to Pikhovshek, he worked at the “1 + 1” TV channel since 1995, where he conducted the programs exclusively in the Ukrainian language, which, in his opinion, proved his loyalty and love of the state language.

“My transition to Russian here, in the studio of NewsOne, was largely spontaneous. It was the emotional reaction of a healthy person to the Syumar bill, in which she began to instruct me as a journalist, in what language to broadcast, “he said.

Further, the journalist said that either Ukraine – a civil and democratic society, or totalitarian. According to him, totalitarianism always arises at a time when someone imposes something: for example, in which language Ukrainians have to speak.
