CSTO forum in Belgrade: “We have approached the center of Europe”

The youth forum “Actual problems of Eurasian security”, organized by the CSTO Secretariat and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia, was solemnly opened in Belgrade today.

On the eve of the grand celebration of the Day of Liberation of the Serbian capital, in which Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu will take part, Serbian and Russian officers, politicians, and cadets will exchange experience in overcoming modern threats, including one of the key ones – international terrorism.

Opening the event, the Minister of Defense of Serbia, Alexander Vulin, stressed that the Balkan country adheres to military neutrality.

“But that does not mean that we do not have a definition of evil. We see evil in terrorism, hatred, and we are always against evil, “the minister said.

He reminded that Serbia knows how to fight and is ready for everything for the sake of freedom.

CSTO Secretary General Yury Khachaturov, greeting the forum participants, made it clear that he was glad to see such an event not in the country-the participation of the Organization, but in Belgrade.

“We are approaching the center of Europe,” Khachaturov said. He expressed hope that this event could raise the level of confidence in the CSTO in Europe, and stressed that the CSTO in no case has aggressive intentions, but only protects the sovereignty of the countries that it includes.
