Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic, speaking at the Seventh Belgrade Security Forum, spoke about the Berlin process and the potential expansion of the EU to the western Balkans.
“It seems to us that the EU looks at the countries that are and not the members of the EU with one eye, so the EU countries are allowed more,” the minister said.
He cited similar examples at the global level.
“When elections to the UN human rights commission are held, Saudi Arabia receives a huge majority of votes. “Something is not quite in accordance with the standards here”.
He noted at the same time that the Balkan region does not consider it special “for the EU to make such exceptions for us and turn a blind eye.”
