North Korea recognized Crimea as Russian territory

Pyongyang issued an atlas of the world, where Crimea is designated as Russian territory, the Russian embassy in the DPRK said on its official Facebook page.

Diplomatic representation drew attention to the political atlas of the world, issued by the North Korean publishing house “Scientific Encyclopedia”. On pages 240-242 of this edition Crimea is painted in Russian colors.

“As the DPRK Foreign Ministry explained, the republic respects the results of the referendum held in Crimea on the entry of the peninsula into the Russian Federation, considers its results to be legitimate and fully compliant with international legal norms,” the embassy said.
