Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said Italy and Greece have “paid a very high price” for the migration crisis, which he said “is European, not Greek or Italian”, following a meeting with Italian Premier Paolo Gentiloni on the island of Corfu.
“We have shown the essential solidarity and taught Europe that our values are always alive,” Tsipras said.
“Europe must understand that these crises aren’t handled with walls but with more solidarity”.
