Guam: Dozens turn out to decry military build-up on US territorial outpost

Dozens of protesters marched on Guamanian Governor Eddie Calvo’s complex to criticise his apparent silence over a proposed 1,000 acre deforestation project to make way for a military firing range, near the island’s capital Hagatna in the settlement of Adelup, Tuesday.

The community-organised group Prutehi Litekyan rallied under the banner ‘Save Ritidian’, the name of the area in the Guam National Wildlife Refuge which is threatened by the proposals from the federal government.
