With the help of sanctions, USA is trying to take hold of the natural resources of Venezuela and turn the country into “Libya of Latin America”, said member of the National Constituent Assembly (NCA) Tania Diaz.
US President Donald Trump introduced Friday new sanctions against Venezuela. In particular, Trump banned US companies from dealing with new debt obligations and securities issued by the government of Venezuela and the state oil company, with a maturity of more than 30 days and more than 90 days, respectively. Also bargains with a number of existing promissory notes owned by the public sector of Venezuela and receiving dividends from the government of Venezuela are banned.
“The attack on the Venezuelan nation has two goals: the goal of capturing our wealth, turning Venezuela into Libya of Latin America, but also having the goal of destroying what meant the Bolivarian revolution,” Diaz said.
