German Court Orders Deportation of Russian National Suspected of Islamism

German Federal Constitutional Court in the southwestern city of Karlsruhe ruled Monday to deport an 18-year-old Russian national suspected of Islamism back to his home country, local media reported.

According to Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, the young man from Russia’s southern Dagestan Republic has been living in the German city of Bremen for almost his entire life.

The constitutional court’s decision came after the suspect’s lawyers submitted an appeal after an administrative court approved the deportation.

The Russian national was detained on March 14, after German security services recognized him as a potential threat.
