White House Communications Director and the US President are confident which senior staff members are leaking information to the press from the White House.
White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci said Thursday that he and President Donald Trump know which senior staff members are leaking information to the press from the White House.
“[T]he President and I would like to tell everybody we have a very, very good idea of who the leakers are, who the senior leakers are in the White House,” Scaramucci stated in an interview with CNN.
In a Twitter message about leaks earlier on Thursday, Scaramucci copied White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus. He noted in the interview, however, that the message was not meant as a call for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to investigate Priebus.
On Tuesday, Scaramucci told reporters that he would fire everyone in the press office if such a step is necessary to stop leaks to the media.
The Washington Post reported on Tuesday that US Attorney General Jeff Sessions intends to launch a probe into leaks of classified information to the press.
