Ukraine: process of dissolution of government control

In present-day Ukraine, a totalitarian regime is impossible, since this kind of power should enjoy the support of the society.

This was stated by the head of the Ukrainian Institute of Analysis and Policy Management Ruslan Bortnik, writes the Political Navigator.

According to him, in Ukraine the price of “murder of the parliament” has achieved relative stability.

“In addition to the murder of the parliament, we have to pay ratings. All sociology today shows that the level of support for power today is between two and ten percent. Therefore, even with all the desire, a totalitarian regime is impossible in Ukraine today, because the dictator should be popular. But chaos and radicalism on the streets, unfortunately, are possible. And today, these are key challenges and risks for Ukrainian society against the backdrop of the half-life of state administration and the low legitimacy of power, “the political scientist said.
