Egyptian Armed Forces killed 30 IS militants, affiliated with the ‘Sinai Province’ group, on Friday. The attack was a continuation of military campaigns targeting the IS stationing points in North Sinai.
According to a statement released from the army official spokesperson, the military campaigns executed by the Second Field Army, in cooperation with the Air Force, enabled them to target militants’ stationing points in North Sinai.
The campaign was the fourth stage of the ‘Martyr Right’ military operation, whose goal is the elimination of IS militants in North Sinai. The deaths of the 30 militants was a result of a strict siege carried out on their stationing points in the North Sinai cities of Sheikh Zewaid, Al-Arish and Rafah.
“The military operation also resulted in the destruction of 12 armored vehicle used by the militants, in addition to the destruction of four bombed vehicles and 300 ‘Improvised Explosive Devices’ that have been planted on roads used heavily by army forces,” the army official spokesperson said in a statement.
