Ukraine and France: Cooperation in Security Field

Ukraine expands cooperation with France in the field of domestic security and in countering cyberattacks.

The Interior Ministry of Ukraine expands its cooperation with France in the field of civil society security and in countering cyberattacks, the ministry’s press service said Friday, following the meeting between Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and French Ambassador to Kiev Isabelle Dumont.

“France and Ukraine are expanding cooperation in the field of the civil society security and in the area of countering cybercrime. I would like to thank you for your support and France’s considerable contribution to the reform of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry,” Avakov was quoted as saying in the ministry’s statement.

According to the statement, the parties also agreed to organize joint training with participation of the French and Ukrainian sides.

Dupont, in her turn, indicated that the Ukrainian Interior Ministry managed to improve the security situation in the country in a rather short term. The ambassador also expressed hope that Ukraine would increase the level of its cooperation with the European Union in the field of integrated border management.
