The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey issued a statement in which it criticized the comments of German officials in connection with the arrest of German human rights defender Peter Stoedtner in Turkey.
In the foreign policy department, this was called interference in the Turkish judicial system.
This is reported on the ministry’s website.
Earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel condemned Stoudtner’s “unlawful” arrest in Turkey.
As reported by The Local, the Turkish court on July 18 extended the arrest of Stoedtner and five human rights defenders, including the director of Amnesty International’s local branch, Idil Eser.
